HubWin is an independent research-based site about working comfortably and productively from home. We cover ergonomics, workstation setup, body comfort, organization and focus.
What HubWin does
We do not examine readers, diagnose medical problems or pretend to test products that we have not tested. Our job is to read the source material, compare it carefully and turn it into practical guidance for a real home office.
For ergonomics and workstation questions, we prefer official guidance from organizations such as OSHA, NIOSH, CCOHS and the UK’s HSE, plus university ergonomics programs where they add useful measurements or context. For health-related topics, we use sources such as the NHS, Mayo Clinic and specialist medical organizations. When a question depends on research rather than guidance, we read the study or review and state its year and limits.
How we handle conflicting guidance
Official sources do not always use the same numbers. When ranges differ, we show the difference instead of averaging them into a new HubWin rule. We also separate a practical starting point from a medical claim. For example, a workstation change may reduce an avoidable source of strain, but it does not diagnose the cause of pain.
How articles are prepared
Each guide starts with a specific reader question. We identify the sources that can actually answer it, read those sources, record the relevant guidance and then write the article around the evidence rather than around a product pitch.
Drafts are prepared with the help of AI. Every factual claim is checked against the named source before publication. Sources are linked in the article so readers can inspect the underlying guidance or study for themselves.
Health and comfort topics
HubWin’s health-related articles are general information, not diagnosis or treatment. They distinguish workstation changes from medical warning signs and link to our Health Disclaimer. Persistent, severe or worsening symptoms deserve appropriate professional care rather than endless desk tweaking.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, send the page URL and the source that supports the correction through our contact page. We review source-backed corrections and update material when the evidence requires it.
